At BMCC, patients are evaluated via telehealth visits and they complete these visits using their computers, phones, or tablets from the comfort of their own homes. During the evaluation, our team members will take the patient’s medical history and all presenting conditions and symptoms into consideration for a medical cannabis recommendation in Louisiana. If approved for medical cannabis use, our team members will fax the medical cannabis recommendation to an approved pharmacy in Louisiana. It’s that simple.

Pricing

Please note that insurance will not cover medical cannabis evaluation in Louisiana because marijuana is still considered a Schedule I substance under federal law. So be prepared to pay for your appointment out of pocket.

Louisiana does not recognize medical marijuana cards from other states. In order to qualify, you must be a resident of Louisiana and receive an evaluation by a clinician licensed in Louisiana who is permitted to issue a therapeutic medical cannabis recommendation.

Appointments

Our team will assess your health conditions and ensure medical marijuana is a valid option for your needs. If approved, our recommendations are valid for one year and faxed to your closest dispensary.

Virtual appointments for initial recommendations and renewals are available for your convenience and covers the following:

  • Collection and review of all necessary patient information prior to evaluation by our Byja MC Company clinical team
  • Consultation with a Byja MC Company patient education specialist to discuss the evaluation process and review any additional information needed from patients
  • Medical cannabis evaluation by a licensed clinician with Byja MC Company via virtual visit
  • Medical cannabis approval and recommendation processing by our Byja MC Company clinical team
